There are those in America that like the sarcastic delivery of the so called "hockey mom" who alternates as a small town mom and a CEO of a big state. She also flips between reformer and let's keep everything the same (conservative).
And of course, she's the challenger of big oil as a special interest, yet she wants to drill now, drill everywhere. She laid claim to the natural gas pipeline project, but her corrupt predecessor, fmr Gov. Frank Murkowski laid the groundwork for that but couldn't bring it to fruition.
On the war, it doesn't matter what the cause is (or lack thereof), it only matters that we "win" whatever that means. And if you're not for winning, you're a traitor or coward or both.
Her challenge of the Washington establishment is well known having knocked off the uber
GOP establishment former Governor and former US Senator Frank Murkowski yet John McCain, her American Idol, spent more years in DC (26) than Murkowski (22).
She beat Murkowski, but almost anyone could, given his corruption, even to the point of resigning as U.S. Senator after being elected Governor and then turning around to appoint his daughter as U.S. Senator.
Her history is one of vindictiveness, having fired department heads as a "mayor" and pursued the firing of a state trooper who divorced her sister as "governor."
She's the Phyllis Schafly of the 21st century and considers sex between unmarried people "a mistake," vis a vis her daughter. Flauting her husband as union yet the GOP is notoriously anti-union. Holding up her children and claiming to be an advocate for families and special needs, yet we won't see or hear her when the Republicans want to cut, cut, cut and ignore the improverished, the sick and the uninsured.
It's funny how the GOP attack Obama as a "celebrity," yet she has herself become one.
Finally, not a direct word on immigration but lots of euphemisms for "jobs for Americans."
What's more telling is McCain's impulsivity in picking her having only talked to her twice. He's hot tempered and quick to pull the trigger. Not good traits for a President.

I've found myself so angered by this and have had a hard time understanding why. I think it is the let down and the disappointment of having this woman be the woman on the ticket. While I was always an Obama supporter, I would have rejoiced with having a woman like Hillary win the democratic nomination. It would have felt right and just. This just seems like a crazy upside down mess and it's hard to grasp having such a "wrong" woman in that spot.
Can you believe the McCain camp crying that she is under too much media scrutiny. UMMMMMMMMM, have you not seen the past 20 years of supreme court appointments? What did you expect?
I personally liked the video of Campbell Brown interviewing someone from the McCain camp trying to get him to acknowledge one decision that the Governor has made in her role as Commander in Chief in the Alaska national guard. It's priceless.
P.S., we're actually funding Alaska and Gov. Palin's "fiscal success" since the lower 48 is paying big time gas prices.
